A return to roots, real life, and rebuilding from the ground up.
It feels fitting to properly introduce myself here.
I’ve been immersed in agriculture since the day I was born. I grew up on a grass-fed beef, hay, and crop farm in Northern Illinois. My parents homeschooled my two sisters and me long before homeschooling was common or widely understood.
Looking back, I can see clearly how much that upbringing shaped who I am.
We had structure, but we also had real life. That sometimes meant pausing math lessons to help a cow have her calf. It meant running (literally) down the road after cows who had pushed through a fence. It meant learning responsibility not from textbooks, but from chores, seasons, and the rhythm of land and livestock.
Summers were spent on horseback, fishing, camping, and living almost entirely outdoors.
That way of life imprinted something deep in me.
Living Well Rooted didn’t start as a business idea.
It unfolded slowly.
For the last 14 years, my husband and I have been building life on our own 5-acre homestead. And 2026 marks a full-circle moment for our family as we’re preparing to move back to my family farm.
We’re excited to be close to family again. To lend a hand. To raise our boys where I once ran barefoot through pasture grass. To build the homestead we’ve dreamed about for years.
This brand, this space, is simply an extension of the life we are living.
I’m a mom to three boys (ages 9, 3, and 3 months).
I’m a musician.
I’m a homesteader.
And I’m also a health coach.
I help women simplify wellness and feel better in their bodies by sorting fact from… well, let’s call it what it is - a lot of very loud, very confusing health advice.
Because modern wellness can feel like chaos.
Do this.
Don’t do that.
Buy this supplement.
Avoid that food.
Cold plunge.
Track everything.
Optimize all the things.
It’s exhausting.
My approach is different.
I believe in returning to what works. Supporting gut health, balancing hormones, regulating stress, and building sustainable habits that fit real life, not extreme protocols that burn you out.
You could call me a bit of a renaissance woman. I love learning. I love experimenting. And I love sharing what I discover along the way.
My husband, Joe, is one of the most capable humans I know.
We’ve been married 15 years, and I have yet to find something he can’t repair. He’s the steady, practical force who helps turn my ideas into reality.
Together, we run a mobile agricultural service business called On The Spot Services. He keeps equipment running for farmers across our area, and he keeps our own operation moving forward.
He’s my best friend. And you’ll hear about him often because this life we’re building is very much a team effort.
This space is a reflection of our real, imperfect, grounded life.
You’ll see:
Canning, preserving, and full-pantry living
From-scratch cooking and real food
Gardening adventures (because you always need more potatoes)
Low-toxin home swaps and natural wellness tools
Nervous system support and stress regulation
Homeschooling in the wild, in the real world, with my honest take
Building a slower, more rooted life in a world that feels increasingly unhinged
This is not about perfection.
It’s not aesthetic homesteading.
It’s not doing all the things.
It’s about choosing simpler over trendier.
Skills over shortcuts.
Progress over pressure.
If you’ve felt the pull toward a slower, steadier way of living…
If you’re tired of the hustle and just want to feel better in your body and in your home…
You’re in the right place.
I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍
This blog is where I share the story.
My private community is where we do the work, together.
If you’d like support, structure, and a circle of women choosing simpler over trendier, I’d love to have you inside.
